~I plan on further exploring the benefits of additive manufacturing for my 2nd answer to my essential question, "How can aircraft manufacturers utilize today's technology in order to be cost efficient?"
What is the most important thing I learned from the interview?
The most important thing I learned from the interview is that it is actually hard to employ additive manufacturing means/processes due to stringent requirements that regulators put on the aircraft industry. It is hard for regulators to accept newer cutting-edge technology because of their lack of users--which makes it harder for the technology to be tested.
How has your approach to interviewing changed over the course of your senior project?
- Over the course of my senior project, I have learned how to ask better open ended questions. Moreover, I also believe that I am more able to confidently approach/talk to other experts about my senior project.
